Mission Statement
Priority Action for 2001
The mission of The Health-Medical Freedom Movement is to protect and expand the rights of citizens to have access to alternative medical treatment, natural health products, and holistic health services. The movement also opposes the imposition of government regulations and policies that provide a health danger to citizens.
The goals of California Citizens For Health Freedom (CCFHF) is to provide leadership, grassroots organization and legislative advocacy in the state capitol to advance The Health-Medical Freedom Movement.
We do this by:
-
Maintaining a positive and active presence at the state capitol enabling us to oppose negative bills, provide information to legislative committees, state agencies, and groups active in the legislative process. We review thousands of bills each year. When appropriate we sponsor bills to expand citizen's rights.
-
Developing a grass-roots support by working cooperatively with many organizations in the state that are part of The Health-Medical Freedom Movement. Many of these organizations are part of the California Alliance For Health-Medical Freedom including; The American Preventative Medical Association (physicians who practice alternative medicine), The Cancer Control Society (organization for advancing alternative treatment of Cancer), The Health-Medical Forum (organization of different professional who support alternative treatment), The Citizens For Safe Drinking Water (organization supporting safe drinking water), The National Health Federation (national organization for health freedom), and National Citizens For Health (number of professional organizations representing practitioners of natural health).
-
Being active in or dialoguing with legislative committees of various organizations in the capitol such as AARP, Congress of Senior Citizens, organizations representing youth interests and culture groups.
-
Maintaining an active presence at different boards in particular the California Medical Board.
-
Having volunteers who represent CCFHF in different communities.
-
Working closely with several colleges and universities by having students in internhip programs and by having special projects done by students.
